Feel Seen — find your question, get your answer
You searched for something. You found your way here. That means something.
This page exists because the questions people type into search engines at 2am — the ones they don't always say out loud — deserve real answers. Not generic wellness advice. Not a diagnosis. A genuine explanation of what might actually be going on, and what can be done about it.
The questions below are organized by the 5 aspects of health that my work takes into consideration.
You will see that the parent-child section is more nuanced than the other sections. This is because a child is always arriving with their family unit, they are still developing, and what will be tolerated by society at large when they are young changes as they get older. A child is also still more connected to doing things in alignment with their Unique Design — and we want to help them stay that way, because that connection is their key to health. We are trying to help as many kids make it as far as they can — either not needing support like this when they are older, or at least being able to access it when they do.
"The pipeline from preschool to prison" is a phrase that has been taken up by many communities and documentaries precisely because it reflects something real that too many families have had to deal with — and something too many parents of sensitive and struggling kids lie awake worrying about. If your child keeps clashing with authority, keeps getting labelled, keeps being sent home — that fear is real and it deserves to be taken seriously, not dismissed as catastrophizing. You are not catastrophizing. You are doing the math, watching what is happening right now, and trying to understand where this is heading. That is exactly the right instinct. And it is why getting help early matters.
What is less visible, but equally real, is the pipeline that leads to chronic illness. When a sensitive child loses contact with what is important for them, when their signals are consistently overridden or dismissed instead of seen and validated, the body starts communicating in ways that are harder to ignore. The earlier we can help a child stay connected to their truth, the less their body needs to escalate to be heard. I know it is not popular to think anyone is to blame for their own (or their child's) illness — our society prefers to think that these things just happen. Without taking ownership over the roles that we play, we become victims to our circumstance, and that's a heavy burden for someone who is at the beginning of their life.
Society's tendency to assign fault to behaviour but not illness is why people end up sick. Sick gets sympathy. A child who ends up in prison gets judgment — and so do their parents if their child is tending that way. That fear of judgment is underneath a lot of what parents of sensitive kids are carrying. The people around you may not be able to support and understand, but we can help them get there, so that your child doesn't have to suffer more than they already are.
The rest of this work is actually informed by this: we are all children, trying to get through what happened to us when we were kids. Paraphrasing the TV show Another Self S03E04 — blaming our parents for our childhood trauma won't make that trauma heal, it prevents us from healing.

About your child:
You will notice that some concerns — like anxiety or learning difficulties — can show up across multiple pages. To find the right starting point, use this rule of thumb:
→ Parenting Your Sensitive Child — if whatever you are concerned about feels like part of who they are
→ Parenting Through Everyday Struggles — if whatever you are concerned about shows up in specific situations like sleep, eating, school, or daily routines
→ Parenting Through Big Emotions — if whatever you are concerned about comes out through emotions, reactions, or meltdowns
→ Parenting Through Big Behaviours — if whatever you are concerned about comes out through behaviour
→ Getting Your Child Ready for School — school refusal, readiness, integration
→ Choosing the Right Environment for Your Child — daycare questions
→ When a Diagnosis Isn't Enough — if your child has been diagnosed or existing approaches aren't working
